Job Summary

The Caregiver Support Program Director will oversee all aspects of our Caregiver Support Program. This program will serve both licensed and un-licensed families caring for youth in foster care in the South King County area. This program seeks to support caregivers in meeting the unique needs of each youth. This role will oversee all functions of the Caregiver Support Program including providing supervision and guidance to supervisors and case management staff, managing referrals, tracking program billing, ensuring all contractual requirements are met, and collaborating with other teams within the Foster Care Services Division.

This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

    Hiring range: $78,000 - $85,000

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all aspects of the program are in compliance with contractual requirements.

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and a team of supervisors and case managers. Support supervisors in hiring and training their staff.

  • Develop processes to ensure services are consistently implemented across all supervisors’ teams.

  • Support the Billing Team in ensuring we are paid accurately and on-time. Collect program data and provide reports as needed.

  • Assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide leadership and support for branch management team, annual fundraising campaign, and volunteer committees/boards as assigned.

  • Partner with the Foster Home Recruiter and Marketing Department to develop, produce, and distribute program information to the community.

  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed. Partner with Tribal and community groups in providing culturally appropriate services to families and youth.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for caregivers after-hours.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or closely related field

  • One year experience working with children or youth

  • One year experience with training or coaching staff or volunteers

  • Experience and knowledge with youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.

  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite Ability to visit sites and community organizations

  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.).

  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree related to non-profit leadership (public administration, social work, business or related field).

  • Life experience with poverty, child welfare, homelessness, behavioral health, or youth violence and a desire to use that experience to improve the lives of others.

  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
