Amazon Production Designer, Amazon Private Brands in Seattle, Washington

Description

The WW APB Marketing Organization is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Designer to support design across Amazon Private Brands, reporting to a Creative Director. This role is part of internal creative team composed of designers, copywriters, productions designers, and brand managers that combine talent, expertise, and customer obsession to create compelling and memorable brands for products that customers love and prefer. They will support the creation and production of our campaign work and/or packaging work, driving innovative solutions to enhance customer experiences and deliver exceptional results.

The ideal candidate for this role is highly organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic, and thrives in a deadline-driven atmosphere. The role develops concepts and executes on multiple projects for our brands. They will be strong problem solvers with the ability to think critically.

Expertise at working with various design tools and willingness to embrace new design technology to improve speed of production whilst maintaining high quality standards is essential.

Key job responsibilities

• Support the Creative Director and Senior Designers with design activities, including creating layouts, templates, placing or cropping images, retouching or image compression or conversion of files across multiple programs (web/mobile/print)

• Perform shared tasks and activities as needed to ensure Creative Team efficiency, including making design comps, management of assets (font/stock imagery, design tools and resources) and technical troubleshooting

• Manage multiple projects ensuring all are completed within identified timelines

• Partner with content team and print production to understand capabilities and requirements

• Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guides, across multiple and diverse categories. Prepare final brand assets for global distribution including logos, icons, patterns, and other artwork

• Use and define tools in order to track, publish, distribute, archive, or review assets

• Undertake adaptive design work when required to supplement Creative Team

• Review digital and print proofs for accuracy and quality at all stages

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of design experience

  • Have an available online portfolio

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field

  • Strong proficiency in design/presentation and tools (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma)

  • Fluency with digital content art direction and production, including familiarity with post-production editing and retouching

  • Detailed, hands-on experience with typography and image standards for web

  • In-depth knowledge of design and production terminology

  • Possess understanding of production tools and processes, keeping current with print production standards and technology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to problem-solve, support and collaborate with other team members effectively

  • Agility for time management and prioritization

  • Superior attention to detail, strong organizational skills, especially as relate to file structure/creation and versioning/archiving

  • Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to create illustrated assets from a style guide or reference file a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
