Software and Services
A consistent track record in finding security vulnerabilities in shipping products
Programming background in C, C++, and/or Objective-C
Familiarity with modern processor architecture
Background in secure coding best practices and code auditing
Have an understanding of past, current, and emerging security exploit types
Proficiency in scripting language(s) such as Python
Proficiency in either macOS or other flavors of UNIX
Have the ability to track and manage numerous parallel activities
Experience building tools and automation
Ability to explain sophisticated security problems
You will be directly involved in Apple's response to critical issues as they arise. From reverse engineering an exploit, providing insightful analysis on vulnerabilities, creating innovative tools to help find security bugs, and collaborating with engineering teams on software issues, the job is as diverse as it is critical. This position requires someone with strong technical strengths and an enthusiastic aim to secure systems by showing how they can be broken. Help make Apple’s products the industry’s most secure Triage, analyze and investigate security issues reported to Apple Analyze issues and pivot off available data to discover new and closely related security vulnerabilities Focus on current security issues and trends and an eye towards future research Have solid organization, prioritization and communication skills and an ability to influence others outside your team Provide mentorship to engineering teams regarding mitigations to emerging threats This position may require some travel to other Apple sites, vendors and security conferences.
Education & Experience
BS/MS in computer science, engineering or equivalent industry experience
Provide security design consulting to other teams
Proficiency with assembly languages
Experience designing and architecting systems with security in mind
Reverse engineering using tools such as IDAPro
Familiarity with the principles and use of cryptographic primitives and protocols
Familiarity with developing fuzzers and other automated tools for vulnerability finding
