NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work in office at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.

We have an opportunity available for a Product Merchandiser, supporting our Men's Dresswear category. As the Product Merchandiser, you will partner with the Merc handising Director to drive the vision for your area of responsibility (AOR), leading the development of trend-right product that helps build brand love with our customers. Through collaboration with Nordstrom Product Group (NPG), Design and Product Development teams and Nordstrom Merchandising Group (NMG) merchants, the Product Merchandiser is responsible for driving the line planning process and building a balanced assortment architecture.

A day in the life…

  • Leverage marketplace insights, consumer trends, and sales data to drive the strategic vision and create a seasonal line plan that establishes item, price and unit expectations needed to meet or exceed financial targets. Responsible for delivering key financial results (Sales, Turn, and Margin).

  • Analyze in-season business and quickly move from data to insights to execute optimizations whether for short-term (chase, cancellations) opportunities or long-term (future development) applications and research and identify new big ideas and products, seeking inspiration from aspirational brands, to incorporate into seasonal strategies.

  • Provide feedback and foster construction conversations with cross-functional teams and/or vendors to ensure designed and developed products meet or exceeds the strategic vision.

  • Prepare for and facilitate key milestone meetings, ensuring that the vision and strategy is brought to life for NMG including key item investments, digital growth perspective, replenishment recommendations, etc. and influence NMG as needed to secure buy-on of key strategies. Responsible for recapping and finalizing NMG’s program and style placements, including ensuring overall roll-up supports financial plan.

  • Drive accountability across teams to deliver to the financial targets throughout the product lifecycle. Ensure all analysis of business results define the root cause of success or risk. Hold direct reports accountable to provide meaningful insights that can drive action plans.

  • Coach associate and assistant product merchandisers through consistent and timely feedback to support developmental growth in both current role and future ambitions.

    You own this if you have…

  • 4+ years' experience in merchandising, buying or DTC assortment strategies

  • Experience initiating, recommending and implementing merchandise strategies

  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply market intelligence

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Experience in retail/fashion industry preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Limited domestic travel may be required

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $90,000 - $175,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
