VMware Product Line Manager - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

As as Product Management role for Telco vRAN with primary focus on building, driving, and architecting 5G Telco vRAN solutions for VNF and CNF deployments.

The candidate will be responsible for building a new business withing VMW focusing on vRAN. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a business from grounds up. The responsibility will include defining and executing on product and service strategy, define roadmap, evangelize solution with customers and drive GTM for business and customer outcomes. The candidate will work on defining the requirements based on customer usecases, collaborating with engineering on product execution and working with marketing and sales on go-to-market and launch.

The candidate will also be required to lead cross BU engagements and drive compute, network, storage and container requirements and solutions for Telco customers.

The successful candidate is expected to have a strong understanding of vRAN, O-RAN and 4G/5G architectures; Telco infrastructure needs and K8S architecture pertaining to Telco. The ideal candidate will have a long history of successfully defining and delivering Telco infrastructure services and be well versed in 5G Telco RAN requirements.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, be able to deliver on projects after being given high-level objectives and an appropriate amount of guidance. Strong technical, presentation and analytical skills are a must.

The candidate will be required to lead a virtual and cross functional team to expand and grow the business.

In addition, the candidate will require to have diverse skills to operate in a start-up kind of environment with both a technical and interpersonal acumen to define and deliver products and solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy, direction, roadmap and vision for VMware’s Telco vRAN offering

  • Drive Packaging and Pricing for vRAN solutions.

  • Product and solution lead for VMware Telco vRAN.

  • Enable sales and SEs to sell the benefits of VMware Telco solutions.

  • Engage in partner adoption and alignment for Telco Core usecases.

  • Drive Competitive analysis and competition take out strategies.

  • Deliver the vision and VMware telco direction for events such as VMworld, MWC

Skills and Experience:

Required Experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in domains relates to Telco, RAN, 5G, containers, VNF/CNF

  • Product management experience for 5+ years

  • Experience with K8S and NEPs (Network Equipment Provider)

  • Operational knowledge of any of the cloud – VMC, AWS, Azure or Google a plus

  • Proven experience in Telco solutions deployment

  • Ability to connect dots finding dependency and passion to drive to build Telco centric solutions.

  • Self-motivated, problem solver that can “figure out what to figure out”, Ready to be hands when appropriate

  • Drive cross functional engagements with a defined outcome in mind. Be able to do this with minimal oversight.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Requires little direction; comfortable working in fast paced “startup” like environment with a “can do” attitude

  • Resolves intra/ inter team/company conflicts effectively and in timely fashion

  • Excellent technical and business presentation and written/verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate with partners and customers on benefits and pros/cons. Drive multi-party negotiations

This job may require the candidate to comply with travel restrictions and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry. Further, depending on various factors, including legal challenges to the Executive Order on Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, VMware may require employees to be fully vaccinated effective January 18, 2022.
