  • Opportunity to provide career growth DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Located in north Seattle, Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Northwest provides a wide range of cardiac services, including early prevention, risk assessment and acute and chronic disease management. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides support with Endoscopy equipment to provider

  • Obtain specimens

  • Follow regulatory guidelines and policies to clean and store endoscopes

  • Call and educate patients on their upcoming procedure; provide instructions and escalate scheduling concerns

  • Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records

  • Prepare and clean exam rooms

  • Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider

  • Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers

  • Assist in transporting patients as required REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent

  • Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment

  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
