We are seeking a Program Manager that will play a critical role to drive the innovation across Amazon's global Travel and Events solutions and services. In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage a center of excellence for security and privacy compliance projects for both Amazon-built and third-party systems used by the Travel and Events Programs

  • Transform complex security requirements into streamlined, scalable processes

  • Drive systematic assessments, attestations, and audits

  • Partner with product teams during system design to ensure proper data handling

  • Leverage Amazon's security and privacy tools to protect our data and users

  • Manage relationships with product managers and third-party vendors to ensure compliance and manage risks

The ideal candidate thrives on creating clear documentation and system credentials, establishing best practices, and building strong vendor relationships. This is not an engineering role, but you should be comfortable collaborating with security engineers and privacy experts while maintaining focus on program management and business enablement. You should be comfortable executing multiple parallel projects to both (re)certify existing systems on a recurring basis, as well as play a role in projects that are designing new innovative solutions so we ensure our customers privacy and Amazon’s security requirements are met.

Key job responsibilities

Lead Amazon's global Travel and Events Security and Privacy Program, where you'll shape the future of how one of the world's largest companies protects its the personal data in the travel and events ecosystem. In this high-impact role, you'll:

  1. Drive Enterprise Security Strategy: Architect and own the global security and privacy framework, balancing robust protection with seamless user experience. Lead security assessments and audits, delivering executive-level insights that influence strategic decisions. Build and optimize security analytics dashboards that transform data into actionable intelligence

  2. Champion Security Innovation: Partner with Product, Technology, and Privacy teams to implement security controls. Design and evolve security systems that scale across Amazon's global operations. Stay ahead of emerging threats, proactively implementing preventative measures

  3. Build Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with vendor security teams to ensure comprehensive risk management. Drive security best practices across business, operations, and technology teams

Influence stakeholders to adopt and champion security initiatives.

A day in the life

Your day as a Travel and Events Security Program Manager at Amazon starts with prioritizing multiple compliance projects across your global portfolio. While tracking certification deadlines for existing systems, you're also participating in design discussions for innovative travel solutions - ensuring security is built into new concepts from day one. You'll review status dashboards, coordinate vendor security assessments, and manage annual system audits. After leading risk reviews, you'll update tracking matrices for remediation efforts and prepare executive updates. Each day requires strategic balance as you maintain security standards while enabling innovation across Amazon's travel ecosystem.

Amazon Travel & Events (AT&E) manages Amazon’s global travel and event programs across all business units and operating countries. AT&E’s mission is to make travel and events easy, for everyone, everywhere, every time by providing world-class solutions to our customers that support the company's goals.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years experience in Security/Privacy Program Management

3+ years managing technology security assessments and implementation of controls

3+ years managing third-party vendor security and privacy programs

Experience with compliance tracking and reporting tools

Track record of creating clear documentation and process frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Amazon standards and mechanisms for managing security and data privacy (including Kale, ASR, FPDS, TPS)

Experience in Travel and Events industry or similar global business operations

Experience optimizing configurations and alert management

Strong project management skills with history of managing multiple cross-functional concurrent initiatives

Excellent stakeholder management abilities and proven track record of influence without direct authority

Background in process improvement and program scaling

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $161,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
