Oracle Corporation is making large global investments to deliver the most open, secure, reliable, and transformative Cloud platform to help its customers through their generational shift to the cloud. Our Database Product Business Operations is responsible for commercializing Mission Critical Database (MCDB) technologies products and services that include providing business operations and analysis to influence decision-making for product and GTM teams to move the business forward. Includes Oracle Database, Autonomous Database, and Exadata Platform (On-premises, Cloud at Customer, OCI Public Cloud, Multi-Cloud).

Responsibilities

As part of this unique team that works directly with product management, database engineering, business practices, field sales, and cloud operations; you will have a detailed understanding of our Database offering, pricing models, ordering workflow, commercial terms, and product release cycle. The role will require very strong verbal, analytics, documentation, presentation, and project management skills. It will require building and maintaining a strong partnership with Product Management, Release planners, Engineering leads, Billing / Metering teams, Business Practices, and Product Marketing to programmatically run the commercial release of new Database Products and Services.

Scope includes:

  • Run the New Product Introduction (Release) process for across Database Products and Services (Cloud, Cloud at Customer, On-Prem).

  • A central point of contact concerning the current commercial release state for each service

  • Guide Service Product Manager owners through the release phases, track results, assist product managers in providing timely updates

  • Functional owner of the Database New Product Introduction tool, lead product roadmap, and drive for changes required to support the organization

  • Partner with product marketing, cloud framework, and global business practices to coordinate changes required with new products/services (including updates to existing services)

  • Lead changes required in Metering, Ordering-workflow, Metering, and Commercial ordering policy required to best support Database products and services.

  • Lead investigations for SLA breaches across Public Cloud, Multi-Cloud, and Cloud at Customer; review and approve deal exceptions with Database engineering/operations.

  • Maintain internal confluence sites on resources for non-technical issues (onboarding, billing, exception requests, SLA, proof-of-concept, etc.) related to Database products and services. Provide input in proposals related to sales incentives to drive database cloud service adoption.

  • Understand pricing across Database products/services, including internal costs to deliver service; provide guidance to Product Managers and leadership team as required to make business decisions.

  • Analyze product market area and assist Product Managers with building proposals to increase monetization existing products and services based on market research and understanding of existing customer purchase-consumption patterns

  • Support the successful onboarding of Database Cloud Customers

  • Interprets, implements, and administers compliance policies, procedures, and practices to ensure proper risk mitigation for all areas of the Database (Cloud, Software, Hardware) business, in adherence with Oracle standards.

Ideal Candidate background:

  • Should have at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science with an interest in Business Management

  • 7-8+ years Enterprise Software / Cloud release process

  • Strong communication skills, and ability to document requirements.

  • Strong Analytics and data analysis skills

  • A self-starter, highly analytical, with sound decision-making skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical

  • Function as part of a cross-functional team and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

  • An ability to operate independently with limited direction/supervision

  • Above-average, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills are required

  • Experience with Confluence and Project Management Tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Prior experience in Product Release Planning, Commercialization , Business Operations, Program Management, and/or sales operation

US: Hiring Range: from $87,800 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
