The landscape of social media and advertising changes rapidly with an ever-growing base of users. In 2024, global social media users will surpass 5 billion, accounting for 63.7% of the world's population, and is expected to exceed 6 billion by 2028. The Social Marketing team owns Amazon’s automated advertising on social media networks such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Snapchat. Our mission is to understand our customers in these social networks to create engaging and relevant ads that delight customers by helping them find the products and Amazon services they want, even before they know they want them. Social Advertising requires rapid change to constantly integrate Amazon ads with new social media partners, experiment with different forms of advertisement, and reach customers in the most effective ways, bring new customers to Amazon, and help customers find products and keep engaged with Amazon. At the same time, as experiments with new partners and new types of advertising prove successful, we need to be able to scale them and operate them through robust systems.
Key job responsibilities
We are seeking a Principal Product Marketing Manager to lead broad cross-organizational Social Marketing initiatives to build scalable advertising programs. You will collaborate with social media apps (Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, Snap, and more) to develop first-of-its-kind products, and partner with marketers, product, and engineering to bring new technical capabilities to life. You will manage development, design, and implementation of key roadmap initiatives in new business areas that drive growth in our advertising programs. You will drive business and senior leader reviews, up to VP, aligning teams toward effective business and marketing strategies. You will be trusted to operate with independence explore areas where long-term strategy has not yet been defined.
As a Principal Product Marketing Manager, you must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You will have excellent verbal and written communication and excel in stakeholder relationship management. You will be passionate about your work, see the strategic big-picture while remaining detail-oriented. You will bring 9+ years of marketing background with experience in online retail, programmatic advertising and social marketing, and be effective in managing and delivering large cross-functional initiatives. Fluency in data systems (Tableau, SQL) and Excel for self-service analysis is a must.
Basic Qualifications
9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with creating GTM initiatives at scale
Experience working cross-functionally across marketing, product management, analytics, UX, and research
MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $153,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
