Oracle Principal Product Manager/Strategy in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - Storage product management team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Manager to drive the development, adoption, and enhancement of OCIs File System Services (FSS). As a Product Manager for OCI Storage, you will play a pivotal role in developing the product strategy, defining new features, driving pricing & packaging, and championing your features through key customers and internal audiences. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of innovative storage solutions that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of File Systems, Storage and Enterprise Data Protection.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy:
  • Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases and their pain points.

  • Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, have a deep understanding of competitive landscape.

  • Identify and champion opportunities for OCI to build differentiated features.

  • Manage and groom feature backlog.

  • Manage and maintain the roadmap

  1. Requirements Definition:
  • Define the differentiated value proposition for features.

  • Write well understood and clear functional requirements.

  • Have a deep understanding of service costs and margin impact.

  1. Product Development:
  • Manage technical tradeoffs balancing customer experience, time to market, functional completeness and costs.

  • Drive the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to requirements and quality standards in collaboration with Technical Program Managers.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to oversee the development process, providing guidance and support as needed.

  1. Market Positioning:
  • Evangelize FSS with internal stakeholders such as the Technical Product Management team, marketing, and solution architects among others.

  • Find, develop and on-board ISV solutions to bridge functional gaps

  • Collaborate with Technical Product Management to write blogs, documentation, white papers, and produce other digital collateral as necessary.

  1. Customer Engagement:
  • Engage with customers and prospects, gather feedback, and incorporate insights into product enhancements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to understand evolving needs.

  1. Performance Metrics:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact.

  • Monitor and analyze product performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

  • Collate key performance indicators and present to leadership at Monthly, Quarterly and other key business reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. MBA is a plus.

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in product management, in Cloud Infrastructure with a focus on file systems and storage, compute, security, networking, and databases.

  • Strong technical understanding of data storage, and file system architectures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a track record of successful product launches.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years Hands on experience with deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.

  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or similar cloud platforms.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in storage and data management.

US: Hiring Range: from $87,600 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
