Kindle is looking for a Principal Product Manager to drive the strategy and vision for the content software and experiences that powers the reading experience in Kindle devices and applications.

We deliver Kindle content to customers reading content on any Kindle device or the Kindle app, with the layout, typography, images, and interactivity that make reading enjoyable. This product manager will be responsible for building innovative content experiences to make Kindle the favorite place to consume the written word.

Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate will have played a leading role in consumer app or client operating system, combining passion for amazing customer experiences with the ability to work closely with design and engineering to find creative solutions to complex problems. They must be highly analytical and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into features that deliver a great reading experience.

Kindle is an iconic product and a thriving business adored by customers around the world – but it’s still “day one” in inspiring the world to read more and get more out of reading every day.

Responsibilities:

• Define 3-year vision and strategy to advance reading.

• Develop PRFAQ articulating the vision and working backwards from customers, and frame hot debates and tradeoff for discussion with senior leadership.

• Work with teams across Amazon, across Books and cross-functionally with design, research and engineering to deliver the vision

• Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members

About the team

The Kindle Customer Experience Product Management team owns the customer facing software experiences across all Kindle devices and apps - ranging from how you read, navigate, acquire content and more. Our mission is to be the world's favorite place to read, write and get more out of reading.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA · BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field from a top university

  • Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment

  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

  • Prior experience working in a software engineering discipline

  • Passion for reading

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
