It's a 'full stack on a small team with big company support' approach.An ideal candidate will be passionate about problem solving, will look to automation to address issues, and will ultimately envision solutions to the next level.Responsibilities:Designing and developing highly reliable firmware for our internally-designed embedded systems as well as hardware interface services in the Linux environmentR&D for new product in the commercial security sector Working with engineers from prototype to production of new productsCreate and manage drivers for Linux based operating systems Implement and test security communication protocolsTaking ownership of your firmware products, including verification testing and writing documentationWorking closely with cross-functional teams for product development, bring up, and productAid in hardware and firmware architecture discussionsSupport for internal and external manufacturing efforts for product quality control and bring upDetermine RF performance optimization methodQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field7+ years of experience of programming in C++ in an embedded environment5+ years working with embedded processors such ARM, AVR, etcStrong ability to debug and root cause field failures and turn into correctable action for integration into firmware release pipelineComfort using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, JTAG, and similar debugging toolsComfort using memory debuggersExcellent leadership, communication and teamwork skillsPreference will be given to candidates with the following:Working knowledge of hardware level software development, including use of timers, interrupts, hardware peripherals such as SPI controllers and ADCs, bootloaders, and debug toolsExperience working with hardware designed for a commercial or industrial applicationExperience working with USB driversExperience with Bluetooth, LoRa, Zigbee, Zwave, or other similar platformsKnowledge of CICD for a firmware platformFamiliar with common electronic components and comfortable reading circuit design s
