AWS Services Finance seeks a Principal Finance Manager to play a key role on the EC2 Capacity and CapEx team. This role will lead EC2’s server CapEx planning and analysis and be responsible for driving broad insights that can shape the AWS financial strategy and improve free cash flow. The successful candidate will lead a team to build capacity and CapEx plan for the biggest AWS service, generate insights that will be shared with AWS business and finance leadership to inform decision making. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization to align on critical inputs, financial outcomes, and confidence intervals. This is a high judgment role that requires someone who can execute without structured guidance, navigate ambiguity, and effectively deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities

  • Develop financial insights and narratives during all planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.

  • Manage and develop the financial planning and analysis processes, including long range planning, and OP1/OP2 planning processes.

  • Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.

  • Partner with the business team to drive alignment between financial forecast and business plan of record.

  • Support ad-hoc requests and assist in various requests from finance executives.

  • Raise the bar on hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent to continue building our world class team of finance professionals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 10+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience

  • Experience working cross-functionally with a wide breadth of stakeholders, users, engineers, and leaders to generate buy-in

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes

  • Experience building and leading in a complex finance team through a mixed finance skill set (commercial finance, accounting, FP&A, audit, operations)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills and finance partner experience; experienced in working with multiple stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
