Amazon Corporate LLC PR Specialist, AWS Community Engagement in Seattle, Washington

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Corporate PR team seeks a self-motivated, creative individual who has a passion for social good with strong program management and event experience. The right candidate has 5+ years of experience working on events, including local public relations efforts. This individual must have demonstrated success in coordinating multi-city community engagement programs and experience in managing multiple programs at once, as well as an interest in promoting awareness for AWS's community engagement activities.This individual will be largely responsible for management of the 4K 4Charity Fun Run (4K 4C), a series of 4K running and walking events produced annually by AWS for major media and entertainment (M&E) industry tradeshows. 4K 4C events raise visibility and funding for non-profits focused on increasing inclusion, diversity, and equity (IDE) in the M&E industry and in local communities. The role will create unique race experiences, manage event and registration platforms, work with finance and legal to ensure proceeds are properly forwarded to non-profits on a timely basis, manage 4K 4C social channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter), and collaborate across Amazon PR teams to promote events.In addition, this candidate will play a supporting role in extending our community engagement awareness as part of the AWS Corporate PR team. This includes engaging local media around our efforts to bolster the communities in which we operate. This may also include working with local non-profit partners, across many AWS customers and partners, and collaborating with Amazon's other community teams.For this role, you should be an excellent collaborator and be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders, this role will balance project management with day-to-day ownership for multiple workstreams, driving projects to completion. AWS is growing rapidly in the U.S. and around the world with customers ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations.This role will be based in Seattle and require periodic travel.Responsibilities:The AWS community engagement specialist will:- Plan, organize and execute 4K 4Charity Fun Run events annually- Serve as the point-of-contact between AWS and 4K 4Charity partners, vendors, sponsors, and beneficiaries- Work with AWS legal, finance, and event teams for platform compliance, event terms, registration workflow, and donation remittance- Manage third-party resources/vendors to coordinate logistical support for:- Manage multi-team/stakeholder project schedule- Mine for and develop stories for AWS community engagement programs- Conduct media relations outreach for local stories- Write press releases and other public-facing materials- Collaborate with AWS and Amazon PR, creative, and social teams to promote community events and programs- 5+ years in events or agency experience- Bachelor's degree- Experience measuring and reporting upon the effectiveness of events- Proven ability to manage processes and projects- Experience writing press releases, media alerts, and/or blog posts- Experience working with reporters on local events and programs- A passion for making a difference in terms of increased equity in the communities in which AWS operates- Outstanding attention to detail and program management expe
