The UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE - PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is looking for an outstanding PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 2 - ONCOLOGY to join our Pharmacy team!

WORK SCHEDULE • Part-Time / 20 hours per week • Day Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS • Under the general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, perform specialized, technical pharmacy tasks such as maintaining controlled substances areas and/or automated medication distribution systems

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Compound and prepare medications from a physician order, which may include compounded sterile products, investigational drugs, hazardous medications, and extemporaneously prepared doses • Troubleshoot technical question. Serve as a resource to nursing, pharmacy, and medical staff for policies and procedures • Perform specific order entry functions including Total Parenteral Nutrition order entry if required • Maintain required controlled substances documentation and research any identified discrepancies • Ensure medications in assigned areas are in-date. Complete assigned monthly outdate checking and unit inspections • Maintain adequate inventory in assigned pharmacy area. Coordinate the movement of stock items when drugs are in short supply. Keep work area neat, clean, and orderly. • Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician 1.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician 1 OR equivalent education/experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
