Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Payroll Specialist maintains the integrity of payroll to ensure all employees are paid correctly and in a timely manner. The GCS Payroll Specialist provides regional-based support through all employee-related aspects of payroll. The GCS Payroll Specialist acts as the first point of contact for all payroll related inquiries. The Payroll Specialist is expected to address inquiries in a timely fashion while maintaining compliance with all local, state and federal mandates and laws. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and maintain all work within the region as assigned. Process semi-monthly and monthly payroll accurately and timely using UltiPro HRIS to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. Process new hires, employee changes, and terminations on UltiPro HRIS. Process garnishments and levies. Monitor multiple submission methods and address submitted work in a timely manner. Identify and research payroll discrepancies. Propose resolution and implement correction for payroll related issues. Act as assigned auditor for other Payroll Specialists region. Maintain accurate records of all payroll related requests and changes. Process manual/void checks through HRIS system. Ensure compliance and adhere to company policies relating to the processing of wages and paid time off. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Maintain tax rates, address agency notices, and escalate issues when necessary. Establish and maintain good working relationships with Office Managers and Practice Administrators. Provide payroll process information to Office Managers and Practice Administrators as necessary to facilitate accurate submissions. Instill employee confidence and protects payroll operations by maintaining confidentiality. Create, maintain and provide ad hoc reports as requested. Create payroll registers for distribution. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: BS Degree The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' multi-state payroll experience. The ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years' experience using a Payroll System. The ideal candidate must have Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skill level. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills. Must possess and exercise good judgment. Must have the ability to take instruction constructively and apply feedback to future situations. Must have the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees throughout the organization. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Experience with Ultimate Software (UltiPro). Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional. LOCATION: This is a remote position. The expected application deadline for this job is August 15th, 2024. COMPENSATION: The salary range for this role is $54,000 to $106,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. This is a fulltime, non-exempt overtime eligible role; overtime eligible after 40 hours of work.
