A Payroll Clerk position is available on a team at one of clients that is offered through Robert Half. In this position, you will be required to support the Payroll department through a number of duties including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. Being able to effectively communicate with both internal team members and outside customers is integral to this position. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Seattle, Washington area and is a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment role.

Key responsibilities

• Craft and deliver training to employees on the use of proper payroll practices, including timesheet entry and online methods of accessing pay statements

• Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

• Build and run custom reports

• Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals

• Devise a system of administering and distributing reports

• Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

• Organize data into spreadsheets and the payroll system Requirements

• Highly organized and self-motivated

• Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

• Proven ability to quickly learn new systems

• Strong attention to detail

• Adeptness in Multi-state Payroll

• Benefits payroll experience

• Garnishments experience highly desired

• Foundational knowledge in Verify Benefits

• Employee Timesheets experience

• Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

• Skilled in Payroll software
