UWMC NORTHWEST - FINANCIAL ADMITTING & ED REGISTRATION has an outstanding opportunity to hire a PATIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST 2 .

WORK SCHEDULE

• Full-Time, Permanent, Day Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• The Patient Services Specialist 2 performs a variety of admitting department tasks including but not limited to: patient registration, general clerical support, customer service, and operating the switchboard.

• Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs admitting or pre-admitting procedures upon arrival of patients. This includes inpatients, individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or outpatient procedures, patients in the Emergency Room, and patients for scheduled/unscheduled procedures and surgeries

• Greets, directs and assists patients

• Ensures patients understand admission policies and procedures

• Collects necessary information to register patients

• Promptly, courteously and calmly answers all calls through the switchboard

• Implements emergency procedures calmly, efficiently, and accurately

• Greets all patients and visitors in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
