WORK SCHEDULE
Full-Time, Permanent, Night Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Patient Services Specialist 2 performs a variety of admitting department tasks including but not limited to: patient registration, general clerical support, customer service, and operating the switchboard.
Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs admitting or pre-admitting procedures upon arrival of patients. This includes inpatients, individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or outpatient procedures, patients in the Emergency Room, and patients for scheduled/unscheduled procedures and surgeries
Greets, directs and assists patients
Ensures patients understand admission policies and procedures
Collects necessary information to register patients
Promptly, courteously and calmly answers all calls through the switchboard
Implements emergency procedures calmly, efficiently, and accurately
Greets all patients and visitors in a friendly, welcoming and professional manner REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
