Optum Patient Services Representative, Primary Care Float Pool in Seattle, Washington

The Primary Care Float Pool is seeking a Patient Services Representative to join their team full time to work in an office setting in Seattle, WA.


Monday - Sunday, Variable Days/Hours | Schedule will depend upon clinic assignment. Weekend availability is required.


Will cover Northgate Plaza, Ballard and Bellevue

The PSR functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for providing temporary front office support to all providers. The PSR’s communication, conduct and performance should support the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming High Performance Organization.

The PSR is responsible for and not limited to:

  • Greet customers into the practice and provide instruction and/or direction as necessary both on the phone and in person.

  • Schedule and coordinate all patient appointments as directed.

  • Register all patients into the system according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept. and CBO.

  • Collect, post and balance payments according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management and CBO Dept.

  • Create, file and maintain all medical records in the area according to the policies and procedures established by the Practice Management Dept.

  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, free of clutter.

  • Prepare all documentation and records with accuracy as directed or necessary for the patient’s care.

  • Meet or exceed the performance measures established by the Practice Management Dept.

  • Follow establish policy and procedures related to the position.

  • Participate and contribute in a team-based environment.

  • Maintain a team supportive attendance record.

  • Understand and deliver quality customer service that is consistent with the Polyclinic’s efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization.

  • Follow OSHA/WISHA (including usage of PPE) guidelines.

  • Follow HIPPA regulations.

  • Adapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environment, and in occasional difficult situations.

  • Communication, conduct and dress portray a professional quality at all times.

Preferred Experience and Credentials:


  • One year of experience as a PSR in a medical environment, preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Long periods of sitting, phone work and keyboarding.

  • Requires good vision and hearing.

  • Close working environment shared with other staff.

  • Fast paced environment.


  • Ability to adapt with ease to constant changing environments and assignments.

  • Understand and perform multi-tasking.

  • Good command of the English language.

  • Possess critical thinking skills to assist him/her in making decisions in prioritizing daily activities related to the front office.

  • Possess and use good oral and written communication skills.

  • Possess proficient computer skills operating in a windows based environment.

  • Work effectively both independently and in a team.

  • Ability to operate office equipment i.e. fax, copier…etc..

Other Requirements:

  • Requires flexibility in hours.

  • May require traveling to satellite clinics.
