Swedish Health Services Patient Registration Coordinator in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Registration Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Patient Registration at Swedish Campus in Seattle, WA .
The Patient Registration Coordinator is responsible for interviewing patients and family to obtain required demographic and financial data, completing consents, escorting/directing patients and collecting valuables and deposits. Initial contact for any patients/visitors with billing, insurance or collection questions/concerns.
In this position you will:
Accurately registers patients into the electronic medical records. Verifies accurate patient information, including coverage eligibility and PCP. Interview patients and families to obtain required demographic and financial data.
Compiles, maintains and files patient charts, including chart purging procedures. Documents, verifies, and updates complete and accurate information on all appropriate chart forms. Manages the information required to meet regulatory requirements such as HIPPA and PHI. Reviews information on L&I/Self-insures claims to ensure quality and accuracy, and sends to appropriate department. Scans and associates consent forms, ID/Insurance cards, and miscellaneous forms as needed.
Obtains and witnesses patient’s signature for consent/financial responsibility/CPR acknowledgment.
Obtains specific information required for Medicare claims processing, such as the MSPQ. Accesses insurance verification programs such as Passport and One Health Port. Verifies insurance information and eligibility.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) years experience in a medical setting with inpatient or outpatient admitting, insurance, financial counseling and medical terminology.
Patient Registration, financial counseling and medical terminology experiences.
