Maxim Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Pathology Assistant with comprehensive knowledge of Anatomic Pathology processes, scientific principles, practices, concepts, and theories providing or sound independent work.

Responsibilities:

• Gross all biopsy specimens.

• Assist and instruct residents in grossing large biopsy and surgical specimens.

• Provide photography services for gross room.

• Assist and instructs residents in performing frozen sections.

• Assist with autopsies.

• Assist in the accessioning of specimens coming into the gross room.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Anatomic Pathology processes, scientific principles and practices, concepts, and theories providing for sound independent work.

• At least one year of working experience as a Pathology Assistant preferred.

• Certification by the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants or other national accrediting agency preferred.

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or related field preferred.

• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
