Position Overview We are looking for a Packaging Production Artist to be responsible for producing and supervising packaging projects for the Stanley Brand. You will partner with the brand team art director, packaging structural engineers and project management to define design requirements and bring the packaging vision to fruition. You will be involved with each step of the artistic and design process, such as producing packaging layouts, conducting reviews, from making edits to finalizing designs. Applying your technical background and skills you must be proficient in using design and image editing software, preparing artwork for prepress, and have an eye for detail and accuracy. Being able to work cross-functionally with multiple internal and external teams to deliver high quality packaging solutions for Stanley's products is of utmost importance. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with art directors, project management, packaging structural engineers and 3rd party agencies to ensure packaging files are crafted appropriately and consistently Applying and adapting to brand guidelines for various forms of packaging supporting new programs and/or keep existing programs current to brand standards Ability to work within multiple design styles and levels of complexity to make various formats of supplied artwork production-ready based on supplied specifications for specified type of printing (usually offset lithography or flexography) Ability to simulate any one of kind prints or finishing treatments for digital review such as gradients to represent foils, simulate embossing, or any special die-cuts etc. Output files for review and complete revision rounds leading to final approval Work closely with the print production technician in China to understand printer capabilities and press characteristics to ensure print quality standards are met Resolve any artwork issues that arise during production Maintain production files, including fonts, images, logos and other artwork Follow a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time Troubleshoot problems as they arise with both the creative team and the printer Review and approve final print samples and ensure they meet print and color standards Stay up to date with current graphic design trends, techniques and software Education & Experience 4 years experience in print production packaging role 4-year college degree preferably in graphic design or similar area is a plus Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe Illustrator) Experience designing and crafting various types of die-lines (from simple wraps to complex boxes, etc.) Keen knowledge of printing processes, CMYK and PMS color systems Understanding of properties, terminology and specifications surrounding corrugate, paperboard, and other packaging materials and processes General understanding of DAM and asset storage practices Familiarity with packaging printing, manufacturing, and assembly processes Understanding of point-of-sale and direct to consumer packaging requirements and solutions Experience working in a global environment (to include Asia-based packaging suppliers) Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000 Stanley is committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
