Job Summary

The Deputy Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services (OPBH) will oversee the behavioral health program daily operations, represent at King County designated meetings, directly supervise clinical directors and supervisors, and collaboratively work with the leaders of the other behavioral health programs. Additionally, this position will lead the behavioral health program as it expands into counties along the I-5 corridor. The position will report to the Executive Director of YSIC Behavioral Health, and collaboratively work with the leaders of the other behavioral health programs.

This position is with the Y Social Impact Center, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems.

    Hiring Range: $105,000 - $115,000/year

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the various program leaders, consumers, and staff, to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants .

  • Assists with strategic planning and on-going program development, ensuring high quality programs are implemented following best practices and promising practices .

  • Ensures contract compliance, including assurance of ongoing review and updates to the Y Social Impact Center (YSIC) Policies and Procedures, to be aligned with all Washington Administrative Codes (WAC), Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and King County Policies and Procedures.

  • Develop, monitor, maintain and adjust budgets for assigned program areas, including looking for ways to increase revenue and/or adjust expenses to meet budget targets .

  • Assures that high quality, effective clinical services are provided and documented in compliance with all federal, state, and county contract requirements . Leads formal quality assurance process f or assigned program and other BH programs .

  • Oversee client and direct service personnel documentation , work with IS team to keep the electronic health records system current , including development of new forms, audit and review processes, and ongoing monitoring .

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical directors and supervisors assigned and oversee staff corrective action needs for all OPBH.

  • Addresses staffing needs both in budgeting and hiring and oversees staff disciplinary issues directly or through support of assigned supervisors.

  • Manage OPBH related contracts – including schools, tribes, K ing County , other agencies, and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) for OPBH program.

  • Actively participates , supports and guides the various Behavioral Health program changes , revisions and expansions .

  • Support YMCA activities including fundraising, community events, education forums, etc.

  • Leads the integration of youth voice into programming, including feedback on existing programs and guidance in establishing new programs .  

  • Compile program statistics and provide data and reports as required . Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program(s). 

  • Provide leadership and support for YSIC leadership team with project management and additional support.  

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Type/Expected Hours

    This is a full-time exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Qualifications

  • WA State professional license (LMHC, LICSW or similar).

  • Met the WA State Supervisor requirements with minimum of five years of direct supervision.

  • Minimum of five years of leadership and budget management.

  • 5+ years of professional non-profit work experience with high risk, system involved (homeless, justice, behavioral health, foster care) individuals of diverse populations.

  • Ability to visit sites and community organizations.

  • Experience with and knowledge of youth behavior management and child abuse prevention.

  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
