Blue Origin LLC Orbital Tube Weld Technician (Weekend Shift) in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for the development, fabrication and inspection of tubes and tube assemblies for space launch vehicles. Utilizing automated weld equipment, you'll develop and create assemblies that will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Additional responsibilities include: Fabricate and install hydraulic, pneumatic and propellant tubing Work with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests Review, edit and follow work instructions for assembly tasks Plan and communicate assembly steps for complex mechanical installations Safely work with hazardous systems, containing chemicals and/or high pressure Be able to hand fit and tack weld parts together with TIG welding as required Work with design engineers to help recommend tooling designs needed to fixture parts for welding Ability to visually inspect welds and verify quality utilizing borescopes and other inspection methods Develop weld schedules for various systems and components Setup, operate, and maintain orbital tube welding equipment Cut and prepare all tubing and fittings used in welding operation Maintain a clean work environment We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Special Mentions Relocation provided Shifts available: Weekend Shift Friday (5am-5:30pm) Shift Incentive: this position is Friday- Sunday and is scheduled for 36 hours, but the employee will receive an 11% weekend shift pay uplift. As such, the position is paid the equivalent of the 40-hour Monday-Friday shift. Interviews will include a technical assessment Multiple positions available Qualifications: 3+ years of orbital welding experience 5+ years experience in aerospace or related fields Experience with AWS D17.1 and or similar fusion welding or orbital tube welding specifications. Ability to use standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment (band saw, chop saw, grinders, drills, etc.) Capable of using precision tools to accurately measure tight tolerances (calipers, height gauge, scales, etc.) Ability to read and understand aerospace 2D/3D drawings Experience with various thin wall alloys (316 SS, Inco 625, CRES 21-6-9, Monel, Titanium) Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must be physically able to: Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas Lift and carry 25 lbs. Work Friday - Sunday 12 Hour Shifts (5am - 5:30pm) with potential for overtime requests Desired: Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety Experience measuring and inspecting tube assemblies using a vector measuring machine Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardwa
