The Seattle Processing Center currently has an excellent Ops Support Specialist opportunity in its Cash operations. The Ops Cash Support Specialist will have day-to-day responsibilities in the Cash Services function with a focus on coin management and operations support. To be successful in this role, you must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate leadership, produce quality deliverables, be able to take direction and work independently, and be able to manage your workload to meet project timelines.

This role is a critical component to our team’s success. It requires sound judgment, an eye for accuracy, and a strong compliance mindset to ensure adherence to operational standards set forth by the Federal Reserve System. A successful candidate will have the ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously and to communicate effectively with Cash management and anticipate their needs. This position is 100% onsite. Required work schedule is M -F 7:30am – 4:30pm

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain thorough procedural knowledge of specific areas of assignment and maintain proficiency with software and business applications that are needed to support Cash operations.

  • Use multiple systems in conjunction with standard office processes (i.e. ECM, FedLine, USSS, US Mint)

  • Work with Customer Support to resolve inquiries.

  • Initiate and maintain strong customer service relations with armored carriers, financial institutions, third parties, and other FRB departments and offices

  • Serve as department’s primary records management liaison and ensure Cash Admin documentation is accurate, neat, orderly, and legible.

  • Complete Department Accounting Entries

  • Complete Daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports

  • Effectively manage and balance all coin activities including mint shipments, coin terminals, and on-site coin

  • Review and Complete the Daily GL Account Balances

  • Process and Reconcile Daily Orders for the Paying Team

  • Provide back up support to Paying Function

  • Complete End of Day Closeout Duties

  • Effectively acts as a liaison between management and staff.

  • Supports department goals and communicates them in a positive manner to co-workers.

  • In collaboration with Facilities, monitor inventory for AGV and SRM parts.

  • Make recommendations for improvement to existing processes.

  • Maintain good, supportive relationships and collaboration with colleagues in Cash operations.

  • Participate and contribute in workgroups.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to use critical thinking to assess situations and recommend actions and decisions in a timely manner. Clearly communicate recommendations to management.

  • Strong partnership and customer service orientation.

  • Exhibits strong communication and tact skills when working with staff, management, customers, and third-party vendors.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills to effectively carry out multiple priorities at one time.

  • Possess the technical aptitude to learn and effectively operate systems, computer-based applications, equipment, and tools utilized in the daily operating environment.

  • Ability to exercise common sense judgment within defined practices and procedures to resolve appropriate action.

  • Good analytical, multitasking, and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience with database-driven software.

  • Experience working cross-functionally to meet internal and external client needs.

Base Salary Range: Min : $49,300 Mid: $64,000 Max: $78,700 (Location: Seattle)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
