The UW MEDICAL CENTER - MONTLAKE PHARMACY DEPARTMENT is seeking a highly-motivated PART-TIME OPERATIONS LEAD PHARMACIST - INPATIENT (87.5% FTE, Evening Shifts) to assist the Inpatient Operations Manager with the implementation and evaluation of pharmacy services. The Operations Lead Pharmacist (Pharmacist 4) is responsible for direction, development, implementation and evaluation of specific programs within the Pharmacy, and is able to independently provide accountability for the area while functioning with a high-degree of autonomy.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Coordinate the scheduling for staff and directs the operation of the assigned area in the pharmacy department. • Provide oversight for the medication procurement, ordering process, delivery and secure storage for areas where medication inventory is available outside of the pharmacy’s direct oversight. This includes, but is not limited to; ambulatory clinics and procedural areas. • Direct the work of pharmacy staff assigned to the work area or shift including pharmacists, interns, and pharmacy technicians. • Actively resolve issues identified with daily operations and works with other departments to solve service-related issues when identified. • Provides oversight for new program development for the assigned area. • Coordinate the documentation and reporting of program activities and quality assurance for regulatory and accreditation agencies (Joint Commission, Department of Health, and Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission) • Detect, document and report adverse drug reactions and medication errors. Assist in developing safe medication practices to prevent errors. • Perform the duties of a Pharmacist II.

REQUIREMENTS: Three years experience in pharmacy practice. Months spent in the completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists accredited residency training program may substitute month-for-month for the experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT: State of Washington Pharmacist License.
