UW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager on Med-Surg Oncology. This position is open to current UW Medical Center-Montlake RNs only.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 90% FTE - 60% direct patient care, 30% in-office

  • 12 hour night shift DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

  • 7SE/Med-Surg Oncology is a 28-bed unit offering care to patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and/or biologicals. Care includes aggressive curative therapy, symptom management and palliative care. All nurses are chemotherapy certified, with education provided on an ongoing basis. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to develop and implement unit policies and procedures

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards

  • Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives

  • Coordinate patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes

  • Address patient and family concerns and provide excellent customer service

  • Provide direct patient care

  • Foster a positive work environment and promote staff development REQUIREMENTS

  • Current UW Medical Center-Montlake RNS only

  • At least 5 years of current/recent oncology nursing experience

  • Demonstrated leadership and/or charge nurse experience
