Langan is seeking* On Call Environmental Field Technicians to join its collaborative team in the Pacific Northwest. *Those hired for this position will serve a key function in assisting environmental field work by collecting field data and samples. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs, and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of biology, site/civil, geotechnical, survey, landscape architect and other professionals on exciting and impactful small and large-scale projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with conducting various types of environmental monitoring (water, air, asbestos, lead) using basic field instruments;
- Operate and maintain various remedial systems; such as drills, pumps, electrical equipment;
- Assemble and maintain field equipment and systems; inspect equipment and troubleshoot as necessary;
- Collect water samples from streams and lakes, raw, semi-processed or processed water, industrial waste water, or water from other sources to assess pollution problem;
- Produce timely and detailed service reports; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred;
- Hazwoper Certification, maintenance of annual physical and respirator fit test, annual Hazwoper 8 hr. re-certification, as required;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
- 2+ years' prior related experience preferred;
- Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to multi-task effectively;
- Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to work well individually and within groups;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Valid driver's license in good standing; and
- Ability to travel to various job sites and spend most, if not all of the work day on-site, as-required.
