CCSWW On-Call Delivery Driver - HEN in Seattle, Washington


The Housing and Essential Needs Program (HEN) provides rent and utility assistance to those who qualify for the program based on their disability and income status with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) and who live in King County. In addition, the program provides essential needs items such as cleaning and hygiene supplies, bus cards, and gas vouchers. The program operates out of 5 DSHS office locations around the county as well as at the Randolph Carter Center (RCC) CCS location in central Seattle.


Driving for the HEN Program involves picking up supplies and delivering them to sites around the county using the program vehicle. The position will also assist with set up of Essential Needs Banks at either the Kent or Seattle location.


  • Load supplies from the Randolph Carter Center office storage in central Seattle based on a specific list of items and deliver to DSHS offices and the Kent Family Center.

  • Assist with unloading delivery of supplies as needed

  • Assist with inventory of supplies and report any shortage of supplies to supervisor.

  • Maintain storage room in a neat and tidy matter.

  • Assist with weekly Essential Needs bank by setting up supplies, handing out supplies to clients and clean up.

  • Accurately track mileage and complete mileage time card.

  • Other duties as assigned.


This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance, building temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, and odors. Other working conditions may include interruptions, working alone, evening or weekend work, responding to emergencies, working on-call and interactions with angry persons.

  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work within the mission, goals and objectives of Catholic Community Services.

  • Criminal history background checks are required prior to employment.

  • Have a good driving record and possess a valid Washington drivers license.

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs of weight repeatedly.
