Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiology

Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a NP or PA to join our Cardiology team to work in our downtown location and also be willing to travel to our Bainbridge Island location on a weekly basis.

This person will function as an Advanced Practitioner in the Cardiology service line providing patient care in the ambulatory setting with some coverage for inpatient service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to triage, H & P’s, pre-op clearance, treatment and management of cardiology diagnoses, consults, patient education and consult by telephone, and coordination with other health care providers.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Support patient panel in Seattle and Bainbridge Island and potentially our Alaska clinic

  • Support our physicians with hospital rounds and consults

  • Post-implant device management preferred or will train

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.

  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority.

  • Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.

  • Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.

OR

  • Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington,

  • Plus one year experience in specialty area preferred.
