Responsibilities The Role Job Summary: Our transportation supervisors and support team are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of our department. Providing leadership and direction to drivers is the essential job function to ensure our success each day. To uphold company safety standards, compliance, and standards of conduct while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced team environment. Communication and an acute attention to detail are required strengths for this position. The Support Team is an essential first step to a transportation supervisor role. Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To Help plan manpower needs and schedule drivers and support personnel. Manage daily driver adjustments and reschedule for absent/sick drivers. Schedule new-hires and oversee training with emphasis on safety and customer service. Route tracking review through TMS reporting to ensure sequencing and flow are optimal. Daily communication with drivers to help overcome obstacles and delays. Coordinate back hauls with buyers and grower/shippers. Collaborate with Operations team to coordinate and adjust daily workflows as needed. Oversee PM hostlers to ensure trucks and trailers are on dock to meet loading schedule. Meet with drivers prior to route departure to review customer list and answer any questions. Notify teams regarding any delays or route issues so customers can be updated. Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary. Qualifications Preferred Skills and Experience 3+ years of experience in transportation supervision or lead role Working knowledge and understanding of DOT rules and regulations Extensive knowledge of W. Washington roads and highways for route planning and support Current CDL, valid medical card, and no disqualifying violations on MVR preferred (not required) Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish, Mandarin) Intermediate Word and Excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties Intermediate MS Outlook skills for regular daily communication with coworkers and departments Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
