Basic Job Functions: Nucor Steel Seattle (Seattle, WA) has an opportunity for a Metallurgist. The most important responsibility of the Metallurgist is to support our challenge in becoming the world's safest steel company. The successful candidate will support continuous improvement in all parts of our operation, specifically in the areas of profitability, quality and process improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to troubleshooting day-to-day quality concerns, calibrations, maintenance of ERP/level 2 systems, taking care of our customers/commercial team, assisting in audits and supporting the Chemical and Tensile Laboratory teams. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
