HARBORVIEW’S MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES Department has an outstanding opportunity for a MENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER WORK SCHEDULE

• Part-Time, Per-Diem

• Day Shift POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

• Work with a wide variety of patients and provide mental health and substance use disorder screening and treatment

• Be a part of a dedicated team making a difference in our community DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Harborview’s Mental Health and Addiction Services Department (HMHAS) provides screening and intake services as well as short-term case management, brief therapy, crisis intervention, and referral to services to adults seeking services at HMHAS.

  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide initial screenings and assessments for new patients seeking services

• Work with patients and their social networks to assist in their recovery from mental illness

• Assess patient needs and determines interventions, provide brief crisis interventions and brief therapy as applicable

• Participate in case reviews

• Chart patient contact in the electronic health record

• Coordinate medication services with team’s medical staff

• Prepare information requested by outside agencies such as DSHS, Social Security Administration, and Seattle Housing Authority REQUIRMENTS

• A Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences, such as psychology, psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, vocational or educational counseling, or social work OR Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or a behavioral science

• AND three years of experience in the direct delivery of professional mental health care.

• Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
