The VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery (VCDR) management team is responsible for building and extending the management plane for our disaster recovery product. The team consist of some of the best engineers in the Silicon Valley and we work on next generation technology for disaster recovery. VCDR is an exciting new area of investment of VMware, and we are looking to grow our already exceptional product and team. We are hiring engineers who can contribute their passion for technology and can bring new ideas to innovate.
We are seeking a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and is an excellent team player to join our team in Palo Alto. As a member of the technical staff, you will work on various aspects of the management plane for our Disaster recovery solution. You will be responsible for performance, scalability, APIs, communication between services for our cloud-based disaster recovery service.
· BS or higher in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years of industry experience
· Should be highly proficient in an object-oriented programming language like Java, C++ or Python
· Strong foundational knowledge in data structures and algorithms
· Experience building distributed systems applications.
· Strong Operating Systems concepts such as multithreading, memory, RPC
· Experience dealing with scale, performance, and concurrency issues
· Good understanding of networking and application security concepts
· Experience with SAAS and cloud services is a strong plus.
· Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills
· Work with Product Management to create new products and functionality
· Build features at a rapid pace without compromising product quality
· Troubleshoot issues in both production and non-production environments
· Communicate and collaborate across all functional teams
· Self-motivated, results-oriented, and most importantly a team player
