Virginia Mason Medical Medical Technologist - Flow Cytometry/Hematology in Seattle, Washington

JOB DESCRIPTION Job Number: 210522 Department: Core Laboratory Hours: 8:00a -4:30pIn this Medical Technologist role, you will work in Flow Cytometry/Hematology to provide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses in a timely fashion.Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical and/or microscopic analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and other specimens.Report on technological findings by collecting, analyzing, summarizing information and communicating notifiable results.Ensure operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting, calling for service support, maintaining operational inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques.Provide medical technology information and support by responding to questions and requests from other healthcare providers and leadership.Conserve laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Maintain professional and technical knowledge. This may be accomplished by: Attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies and participation in competency assessment.Maintain inter- and intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Join us, and find out how many ways Virginia Mason offers you the chance to focus on what really matters - your patients.Qualifications:Baccalaureate degree in medical technology from a program or institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency required.Alternative Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency, or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution as certified by a foreign transcript evaluation agency approved by AMT, and shall have completed at least 35 semester hours of coursework across various subjects related to the clinical laboratory sciences, such as biological science, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, etc., and shall have either:Completed an accredited medical technology training program following the earning of the baccalaureate degree re
