Participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of pioneering systems and technologies to continuously improve the safety, quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. Functionally decompose sophisticated problems into simple, straight-forward solutions. Share knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering standard methodologies. We are looking for someone to apply their mechanical & controls engineering expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to scale and improve the automated manufacturing at Blue. Responsibilities: Support initiatives to improve the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through automation; accomplish the technical architecture, roadmap, and implementation Mechanical design, hardware development, and visualization using 3D CAD to support equipment modifications Drive the hardware design, and process flow of new automated equipment and tooling Provide production support for sophisticated manufacturing equipment, perform root cause analysis for continuous process improvements Required Qualifications: 6+ years experience at mechanical design and strong hardware integration skills (ex. SolidWorks, Creo, or similar packages) 6+ years experience with Controls and Automation Software (ex. Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Control Logix) 3+ years experience with 'from scratch' design, procurement, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of automated tooling or equipment A demonstrated ability to interpret and review mechanical drawings Strong skills for design and process simplification Ability to communicate optimally, clearly, and with humility to partners An understanding of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedication Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with controls and automation software. A demonstrated ability to interpret and review electrical drawings. Design and modification of PLC and Robot programs Design of process control systems (Torque Tools, Machine Vision, NDT, and Metrology) Compensation Range for: WA applicants is $141,480.00-$198,072.00 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
