Job Description

o Supports the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop cutting edge concepts into new products needed for power distribution for data center.

o Lead new product design, development, and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.

o Collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought out products.

o Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements while delivering a return on investment.

o Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate electrical equipment, devices and bill of materials.

o Ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries.

o Prepare, Review and approval of product design and drawings including electrical bill of materials, configuration, layouts, assembly, construction, and electrical wiring drawings.

o Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during manufacturing phases.

o Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products.

o Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.

o Support of Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review.

o Be a leader within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.

o Having fun while offering creative, out of the box solutions.

Skills and Requirements

Need a Mechanical Design Engineer that has supported Data Center Design or Mission Critical Projects.

8+ years minimum working as a Mechanical Design Engineer (hands-on experience)

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering

Chilled water/water cooling experience

Evaporative Cooling Experience - Experience in cooling technology design or chilling-based technologies

PE License

Experience working in large data centers from START TO FINISH (empty warehouse à fully functioning data center) null
