This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will develop and execute the design of avionics electronic hardware used to operate rocket engines in space. This development team is tightly knit and very collaborative, with a variety of experience and backgrounds. We care about the success of our peers and are eager to help each other learn and grow. Together we will build high-reliability, safety-critical avionics solutions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design of ruggedized avionics enclosures. Drawing creation and release Thermal and structural analysis Contract manufacturer selection and management Creation and execution of acceptance and qualification test plans Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 2+ years of experience in mechanical design Familiar with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred) Understanding of structural analysis/mechanics Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E preferred) Experience with GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5) Ability to work effectively in teams Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Creo, Windchill, ANSYS, ICEPAK Experience with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (hand calcs, NASGRO, VCCT, etc.) Experience with structural and/or thermal analysis Experience designing ruggedized electronics enclosures or similar high-performance hardware Familiarity with aerospace industry standard structural analysis methods (Bruhn, Marks', Shigley, Sherlock) Familiarity with vibration isolators Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $109,980---$153,972 USD Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
