We’re looking for an amazing Manager, Stability and Safety to fill this role. This is a hybrid, in-office role. You’ll work in person at our Miami or Seattle Office Tuesday to Thursday each week. You’ll be responsible being the technical resource for all matters related to the stability of Holland America and Seabourn ships, providing guidance to Staff Captains and seagoing officers in all matters of ship stability. Responsible for monitoring the performance of the fleet in their ability to achieve required stability criteria. Additionally, this function will advise on structural modifications to vessels, and oversight on ships drawings to ensure ongoing compliance.

Responsibilities
Serve as stability SME for Holland America and Seabourn, addressing stability issues and inquiries as they arise.
Oversee Stability and Safety information / plans where required to reflect current ship arrangements and receive authority approval
Ensures ship stability conditions are compliant with statutory and company standards
Advises on the impact to stability of proposed shipboard projects/modifications
Helps maintain and update onboard stability hardware and software to meet current requirements
Advises ship staff on their stability conditions, providing guidance with ship loading plans where necessary
Support the ship and technical superintendent in planning ship’s inclining tests and light survey as needed
Represent HAL and SBN at the Carnival Corp Stability Working Group
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, or equivalent Marine experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, especially Sharepoint, PowerBI and Teams applications
Minimum 3 years' experience in Naval Architecture
Prior experience with passenger shipping operations preferable
Experience with industry standard stability software; experience with NAPA software a plus
Knowledge of statutory and regulatory shipping requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to update documents in accordance with industry standards
Able to comfortably engage with various levels of seniority in our organization, both onboard and ashore, as well as with external bodies
Effective oral/written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills

Base Salary Range: $83,200 to $112,300. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
