Insight Global Maintenance Supervisor in Seattle, Washington
Job Description
A client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to be a part of their new Dairy Production Plant. This person will entail overseeing maintenance staff, executing maintenance strategies and upholding all regulations in terms of safety, food safety, quality, reliability and cost. This person will be a leader within the plant and a partner in all areas of plant maintenance, automation and controls, wastewater treatment, utility systems, maintenance support services and training. The maintenance supervisor will work closely with the plant operation teams, environmental health and safety and QA to ensure that the site is able to safely achieve its goals.
This person will drive a robust culture of safety and quality based on recognition and accountability, conduct safety training sessions and drills and ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards. They will ensure compliance with safety programs including but not limited to LOTO, confined space, fall protection, electrical safety. They will lead, guide, develop and audit quality standards for craftmanship. They will work with contractors to improve and maintain quality standards for product and process alike.
Job Duties:
- Supervise maintenance staff including technicians and storeroom clerks
- Address performance issues and provide coaching as needed
- Develop training plans for employees to build technical capabilities and adherence to safety and quality goals
- Deliver on maintenance programs with an emphasis on OEE based performance
- Work with vendors and contractors to assess data and understand planned requirements and improvements
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to improve KPIs in OEE, planned vs. unplanned work, labor allocation, PM scheduling, process stops, minor stops and cost of maintenance as well as unplanned downtime
- Utilize continuous improvement tools to improve plant reliability including 5S, CIL (clean, inspect lubricate), breakdown analysis, Gemba Walks, 5 Whys, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve Control), Pareto, Poka-Yoke (error proofing), FMEA, etc.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of production building and utility equipment including pumps, valves, separators, RO, case packers, palletizers, sensors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors and forklifts
- Schedule routine inspections and repairs

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
- Proven experience in maintenance supervision preferably within a dairy processing plant
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems:
Utilities- electrical, steam, air, water, wastewater, refrigeration
Building systems- HVAC, Fire, Security
Mechanical- Power transmission (gearboxes, chain and sprocket, belt and pulleys) Pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic
- Knowledge of food safety best practices
- Poficient in CMMS and inventory tracking systems
- MS Office Suite proficient
- Experience in dairy, beverage, packaging or processing industries
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, plant automation, fluid processing, carpentry, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, steam generation, and refrigeration
- Ability to troubleshoot reliability issues in a manufacturing environment that operates 24/7 NA null
