Blue Origin LLC Lunar Vehicle Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer - Lunar Permanence in Seattle, Washington

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building a balanced infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Engineerto join theLunar Vehicle Requirements and Verification Team. Some of your initial tasks may include requirements definition, requirements decomposition, ConOps development, and interface definition. As the program progresses, tasking will shift to requirement verification planning, coordination of verification evidence, and development/delivery of verification closure notices. As a senior individual contributor on the team, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership principles, driving continuous improvement in team development and organizational processes. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and require your dedicated dedication and attention toward safe and reliable spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Support the completion of program development in the areas of requirements definition, validation, and verification. Support system and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams. Support and participate in milestone reviews. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand vehicle requirements and ensure strong, continued communications throughout the lifecycle of the mission. Apply a variety of technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering such as CONOPs development, requirements analysis, and interface definition. Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar General knowledge of overall systems engineering process and technical budgets Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant science or engineering discipline Familiarity with the lunar environment, science, and exploration systems General knowledge of space systems design and requirements (e.g., thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC, acoustics, electrical grounding/bonding) and mechanical hardware design General knowledge of crewed space flight systems and human factors Experience with requirements development/management tools such as JAMA Experience with systems engineering modeling tools such as Cameo.
