We are looking for an experienced turbomachinery bearings engineer for our Lunar Lander for NASA's Artemis mission. Work will include the complete life cycle of from requirements definition, analysis, design, development, assembly, verification, and operation on the moon! We will be designing and building clean sheet advanced liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen pumps. This position encompasses bearing specification, design, and procurement for multiple cryogenic pumps. A successful candidate will have significant professional experience in bearing design across a variety of turbomachinery applications. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Qualifications: B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area 5+ years of experience in turbomachinery bearing design engineering Experience in turbomachinery design, material selection, and tribology Experience planning, defining instrumentation, and post processing bearing tests Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly collaborate with external parties including government and commercial entities Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel Desired: M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area Experience with cryogenic applications Experience in all phases of turbomachinery life cycle in flight vehicle applications Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00;CO applicants is $102,382.50-$143,335.50;WA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00 Other site ranges may differ Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.
