Blue Origin LLC Lunar Test Engineer - Senior in Seattle, Washington

As a Test Engineer supporting the Lunar Integration and Test (I&T) team, you will be supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Lunar Permanence is Blue Origin's team dedicated to developing mission architectures such as our planned Lunar Lander program, Blue Moon (Link: ). Our Lunar Transportation team is developing our Lunar Pathfinder mission will demonstrate the lander's core capabilities - including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and advanced integrated power and propulsion architecture - on an early New Glenn flight. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Apply direct experience to component and subsystem test planning and execution, which could include development, qualification, acceptance, performance, and environmental testing Decompose test standards and requirements into discrete executable events Identify test events, needs and equipment required for test Mentor Lunar Test Engineers Lead daily test operations, operate test consoles, direct technician work and coordinate with internal customers. Experience with test facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control Systems. Design, procure, and install test support equipment; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation. Troubleshoot issues that arise during testing. Find opportunities for safety improvements and cost savings. Participate in test readiness review, pre and post test briefings, and post test reviews. Manage procedural redlines and updates during test campaigns. Coordinate test crews, support equipment and vehicle configurations for testing. Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations. Minimum Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline. 8+ years of applicable testing experience Experience with space vehicle component or subsystem testing including structural, vibe, acoustic, modal. Experience mentoring test engineers Understand the Test Like You Fly assessment and exception process. Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills. Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with human-rated programs Familiarity with SMC-S-016 Experience with cryogenic testing, pressurized equipment, and vacuum systems.
