This role is part of Lunar Permanence mission operations, which develops the mission operations systems and procedures that support Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse flight operations professionals, you will develop and operate lunar spaceflight systems. You will work with subsystem teams to create, update and maintain mission operations procedures, and test them in simulations and vehicle mockups. You will also develop telemetry display panels, use analysis and engineering judgment to recommend operational limits and flight rules, and create documentation that will establish repeatable, error-free spacecraft operation by flight controllers or astronauts. You will also have the opportunity to train and support the execution of the mission from our mission control center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and maintain spacecraft operational products to include procedures, telemetry displays, handbooks, flight rules and operational data files Utilize software and hardware simulators and testbeds to test and validate operational products Work with ground and flight software teams to recommend updates that increase the efficiency of operations Work with system and subsystem engineers to recommend design improvements and operational techniques for lunar spacecraft Work with system engineering teams to establish spacecraft concept of operations Train and complete certification for support of real-time mission operations from mission control Support mission operations during lunar vehicle flights, which may include occasional work outside of normal business hours Support investigation and resolution of in-flight anomalies Minimum Qualifications Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field Previous experience as an operator or flight controller in real time operations such as flight test, remotely operated vehicles or spacecraft operations Proven safety mentality Takes initiative to improve existing systems, processes, and documentation Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Experience with human spaceflight operations Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Spacecraft Test and Operations Language (STOL) or others Experience developing user interfaces, data displays or control console layouts Understanding of standard voice protocols used in spacecraft operations Knowledge o
