You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Lube Technician (Night Shift) Materials Recovery Facility THE ROLE Under general supervision, performs safety and maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance on vehicles and/or heavy landfill equipment and/or stationary equipment ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF LUBE TECHNICIAN (Night Shift) Performs preventive maintenance and safety inspections on any or all company vehicles, heavy landfill equipment and stationary equipment. Accurately and efficiently completes paperwork and/or computer database entries relating to the work performed, documenting parts and supply usage. Generates repair orders to communicate defects or areas of concerns for follow up and/or corrective action. Performs minor repairs and cleaning of components as required. Performs other maintenance related work as required by supervisor or foreman. Operate forklift and other yard equipment as required. Performs all work in accordance to company standards and policies and DOT standards for safety. Maintains a clean, safe work area in accordance with company policy and federal, state and local requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: One year of preventive maintenance mechanical experience with heavy vehicles. Experience and knowledge of DOT Out-of-Service Criteria including CHP B.I.T. Inspections and DOT compliance audits. Waste and recycling industry experience preferred. Experience working in a maintenance facility or related environment with vehicles, processing equipment such as: balers, conveyors, hoppers, electric motors and landfill equipment preferred. Basic knowledge of diesel and/or compressed natural gas engines, heavy equipment mechanical components and use of tools and techniques. Knowledge of alternating and direct current electrical controls and motor systems. Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards. Basic computer programs. High school diploma or GED preferred. Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License and medical with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions required within 12 weeks of hire. Valid driver's license. Skill and / or Ability to: Ability to work any assigned shift.
