Amazon Legal Assistant, Intellectual Property Operations in Seattle, Washington


Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon's legal team. As a Legal Assistant you will be a key member of the Trademark team, helping us support the rapidly growing business.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities include providing front line support for our team, coordinating the execution of agreements and official documents, tracking documents, helping us ensure the accuracy of our records by assisting in the maintenance of our matter tracking system, conducting invoice review for accuracy of billing, performing general office tasks (such as calendaring, filing and budget tracking) and other administrative tasks.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; complete a high volume of tasks and projects quickly with little guidance; react with the appropriate urgency; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and solve problems that affect people within the group or other related groups. The candidate will be internal client-service oriented, have high attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, have great organization skills, and the ability to easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information is also important. A good sense of humor is essential.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional or military experience

  • 2+ years of administrative assistant experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a technology company or other legal experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Client-service oriented with strong attention to detail

  • Strong desire and aptitude for learning new concepts

  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Experience with Anaqua a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $38,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $92,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
