AWS Investments is looking for a talented, driven, self-motivated Lead Sales Ops Analyst to join the organization managing the platform that centralizes management of all customer investment operations, channelizes the investment via proper approver chain, and recommends the right customer investment resource and amount to the AWS seller. This role will be a unique opportunity to support AWS Investment platform, internal users (customers), and AFX Leadership by partnering with AWS Product and Engineering team to be the “voice of the customer.” This position will simultaneously present and communicate operational excellence metrics to AWS Investments leadership and ensure that solutions, feature enhancements, and launches are executed seamlessly.

The Lead Sales Ops Analyst is expected to operate with significant autonomy, owning and leading key workstreams and serve as the subject matter expert to fulfil data-driven demands. The ideal candidate should proactively identify and lead opportunities to drive operational excellence. This includes 1/ identifying problems with significant business impact and lead analysis to produce digestible business intelligence and insights that provide significant business value 2/ leading workstreams aimed at driving operational excellence through automation and through design and ownership of business reporting templates/data packs for key mechanisms 3/ supporting the sales ops team to drive timely resolution of critical sales operational issues impacting revenue or field performance/productivity. To do this effectively, the Lead Sales Ops Analyst should have deep understanding of the sales organization and sales operations in order to surface information and insights, and drive the orchestration required to make optimal business decisions.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess creative problem-solving abilities. You should possess good communication and project management skills, is customer obsessed and able to communicate complex business insights, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and precise manner. You must be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving, have a passion for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and have the foresight to anticipate business needs and balance business dynamics despite constraints. You should also have the ability to work with and influence a broad range of stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

Business Partner:

•Develop a deep understanding of sales metrics, reporting tools, and data structure in order to identify and drive resolution of issues, provide actionable intelligence.

•Collaborate on the design, development, maintenance, and delivery/presentation of forecasting models, metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.

•Partner closely with AWS Investment Product and Engineering team as “voice of the customer” to ensure solutions are developed to solve and automate customers requests.

•Manage business exceptions and escalations – Liaison with key stakeholders to resolve inter regional, business unit, segment and geo exceptions and escalations.

Mechanism support and enhancement:

•Lead workstreams aimed at automation and driving operational improvement for immediate and broader business.

•Support key sales planning and reporting mechanisms (e.g. Weekly Business Review, Sales Ops metrics, Forecast, etc) with data, scalable templates and insights.

•Proactively identify and implement operational processes and/or reporting that simplify, standardize and enable operational excellence.

•Identify, and propose new metrics, dashboards, scorecards to monitor and improve our business.

Reporting and Insights:

•Independently define analytical approach to solve complex analytics problems with the ability to flex among various data tools according to the problem and data.

•Design and implement scalable solutions to generate actionable business insights from large complex datasets.

•Generate operational performance analysis and reports that align to, and simplify weekly/monthly business reviews.

•Influence and escalate sales operational issues as appropriate in a timely manner.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

  • 7+ years of experience in sales operations, data analysis, or related field

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Strong and effective written and oral communication to convey findings, with a track record of presenting to senior management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Salesforce (or other CRM tool) or BI tools

  • Experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Great organizational skills and attention to detail; able to execute and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Understanding of Salesforce, SQL, Python and manipulating large data sets

  • Able to operate in a lean, fast-paced organization—turning ideas into concrete action plans

  • Able to develop strong and productive relationships across peer organizations that foster collaboration and best practice sharing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
