This recruitment offers a $10,000 Signing Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine#UWMRecruitmentIncentive UW Medical Center – Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a part time (60% FTE, 24 hours per week), day shift LACTATION CONSULANT (job profile: Registered Nurse 2) to join our Pediatrics Clinic, located in the U-District of Seattle. Our Pediatrics Clinic provides comprehensive primary and specialty care for babies, children, teenagers, and young adults to age 21. This position will work specifically with lactating pregnant and lactating postpartum families, helping them make informed decisions on breastfeeding and pumping. SCHEDULE: 24 hours per week. Our Pediatrics Clinic is open Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. This position has no night, weekend, or holiday responsibilities. The exact shift schedule may vary week by week. RESPONSIBILITIES: As a RN Lactation Consultant, you will:

  • Teach and model evidence-based lactation practices

  • Support a caseload of patients across the perinatal and breastfeeding continuum

  • Provide patient assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation services

  • Document care outcomes in Epic/MyChart

  • As needed, contribute to the development of system-wide lactation standards, protocols, and procedures MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of current or recent nursing experience with breastfeeding families

  • An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington
