This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Shift available: Monday - Thursday (Day Shift, need to flexible with hours) Responsibilities include but not limited to: Operate a work center producing a high value, schedule critical product. Operate powder processing tooling to include but not limited to grinding of powders and mixing with additives, as well as particle size analysis, rheology, and density measurements. Monitor coating process and perform batch inspections. Maintain accurate laboratory/ work center /job journal to transition process between shifts. Enter data into spreadsheets or Lab specific software. Strict attention to detail and compliance to procedures commensurate to an aerospace environment. Work with a variety of chemicals including acids, solvents, and reactive solutions. Operate afurnace with basic understanding of safety within hot zone areas. Perform basic lab functions. Maintain lab machinery, equipment and assist with keeping the lab safe, clean, and orderly. Production of propulsion hardware and equipment Assist engineers in reviewing design concepts, providing feedback for improvements Use diagnostics techniques for troubleshooting, repair or replace various types of lab equipment Gain familiarity working with product specific custom tooling Review and follow work instructions for complex custom tooling and processes Innovate to improve processes and increase efficiency of operations Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for assembly, test, and maintenance of laboratory and testing equipment Flexibility in work schedule, supporting all shifts/OT, as necessary, to support business needs Use of personal protective equipment such as full-face respirators Training will start on day shift and will potentially last several months before transitioning to weekend (Fr-Sun) shift. Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to coordinate time off with other team members to ensure staff coverage. Minimum Qualifications: 2-5+ years experience in chemical/laboratory processes in a clinical, testing, development, educational or manufacturing environment. Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and electrical schematics Ability to read, understand, and use technical manuals and detailed work instructions Working knowledge of physical and chemical properties and behaviors of acids and bases Solid understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware, seals, and bearings Experience and confidence working in a research and development environment Knowledge and experience with personal protective equipment Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize hand tools, power tools and electronics testing equipment such as a DMM Use of precision measuring laboratory instruments and attention to detail Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a small team environment as well as be a self-starter Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
